How Linking Works
Every line has a way to tie reservations together for dining. Royal Caribbean lets a traveler link a handful of cabins in the app, and larger groups are cross-referenced by the travel agent; Carnival's reservations are linked by the agent by hand. Either way it's part of booking, not something to remember at the pier.
Choose the dining time with the group's port days in mind. Early seating, often around 5:30, is rushed when the ship's back-aboard time is 5:00; late seating, around 8:00, is late for some travelers. Many groups pick one time and skip the dining room on port nights: the buffet needs no reservation, and nobody has to shower and change after a beach day. What isn't flexible is the dining room's dress minimum: swimwear and tank tops stay outside.
Tell us about birthdays and anniversaries at booking. The dining team can decorate, bring dessert, and sing, but only if someone told them in advance, and that someone is us.
