Budgeting Like You've Done This Before
A low headline fare is an entry ticket, not a total. Price the version of the trip you'll actually take: add gratuities, a realistic bar or package number, specialty dinners if you want them, excursions, and wifi if you need it. Optional purchases can materially increase the advertised fare: better to know at booking than at the last-morning bill.
Lines increasingly sell bundles (drinks, wifi, and excursion credit packaged with the fare. Bundles can be worthwhile, but compare the bundled fare with the cost of buying only the components you'd actually use.
