Questions We Always Get
What does a safari cost?
Roughly $400 to $700 per person per night at a good mid-range lodge, all meals and game drives included, and $1,200 to $2,500 per person per night at the top camps in Botswana and the Sabi Sand. International flights, bush flights, and park fees sit on top. A 7-night safari for two typically lands between $12,000 and $35,000 all in. Tell us the number you have in mind and we build to it.
Do you charge a planning fee?
No. The lodges and safari operators pay us, the same way cruise lines and resorts do. You pay the published rate, and in most cases the same rate you would pay booking direct.
When is the best time to go?
The dry season, roughly June through October, for the best game viewing in southern Africa and the Mara. Victoria Falls is fullest from February to May and lowest from October to December, so a trip that wants both big water and dry-season game needs a compromise. We walk you through it.
Can kids come?
Yes, and the lodge choice is where it matters. Many camps set a minimum age of 6, 8, or 12 for game drives, and some private reserves run family-only vehicles. We steer families toward camps that welcome children rather than tolerate them.
How far out should we book?
Nine to twelve months for peak season, especially for a group that needs several rooms at one camp. The best camps are small, often 8 to 12 tents, and fill early. Inside six months we can still build a strong trip, but the camp list gets shorter.
Is it safe?
The safari areas we book are established tourist regions with professional operators, and you are in a guided vehicle or a fenced camp nearly all the time. We give you the specific guidance for each country and city on the itinerary, and we do not send a group somewhere we would not go ourselves.
