Why This Comes Up
Flying in the morning of the cruise is the single riskiest decision in cruise travel: one delayed flight and the ship leaves without you. So we push groups to arrive the night before, which puts a hotel in the plan, and for the college-age members of a family group the hotel's check-in age suddenly matters.
The fix is simple: the cabin's qualifying adult also checks into the hotel room, or we choose a property whose posted minimum fits the group. We check the property's current policy at booking rather than assume the brand's; the rule moves between hotels under the same flag.
Accurate as of September 2026; cruise-line policies change, and your line's own documents govern. When in doubt, ask your line, or ask us, which is free and comes with opinions.
